Job summary

Dynata is seeking a senior accounting leader to steer global month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, ensuring timely, accurate deliverables across the organization. You will review journals, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, payroll entries, intercompany activity, and other GL functions, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with auditors for audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities globally with timely deliverables.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll-related entries, intercompany transactions, and other GL activities.
• Monitor balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items, aged balances, and exceptions promptly.
• Supervise and provide coaching to Senior Accountants and Accountants including onboarding and development.
• Coordinate audit requests and ensure readiness for internal, statutory, and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, SOX, and company policies; identify and address gaps.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, AP and business stakeholders to resolve issues and support reporting.
• Drive process improvements, standardization, automations, and system enhancements to raise efficiency and accuracy.
• Support special projects, acquisitions and integrations as needed.

Job description

• Lead and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities globally, ensuring all close deliverables are completed accurately and within established deadlines. (25%)
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll-related entries, intercompany transactions, and other GL accounting activities prepared by team members. (20%)
• Monitor balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items, aged balances, and outstanding exceptions. (15%)
• Supervise and provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and technical accounting support to Senior Accountants and Accountants. Assist with onboarding, training, performance feedback, and employee development. (10%)
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors. Coordinate audit requests, support annual audits, statutory audits, and ensure audit readiness of accounting records and supporting documentation. (10%)
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, US GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements. Identify control gaps and implement corrective actions as needed. (5%)
• Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and business stakeholders to resolve accounting issues, support financial reporting requirements, and drive business initiatives. (5%)
• Drive process improvements, standardization efforts, system enhancements, and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy across the accounting function. (5%)
• Support special projects, acquisitions, integrations, and other ad hoc finance initiatives as assigned. (5%)
