Job summary

ALTEN Mexico is seeking a Systems Requirements Engineer Jr to bridge Design & Release Engineers and System Architects. You will translate technical/regulatory needs into clear requirements for infotainment components and support hardware/software integration across the SDLC.

The role requires basic experience in requirements engineering, DOORS, RTC, and JIRA, plus familiarity with DFMEA, CAN/LIN, and embedded systems. Bachelors in a related field is expected.

Qualifications

• Basic level requirements engineering experience (0–1 years).
• Basic level experience with IBM DOORS for requirements management.
• Basic workflow control experience with RTC.
• Basic issue tracking experience with JIRA.
• SDLC familiarity (0–1 years).

Job description

We are looking for Systems Requirements Engineer Jr:

Acts as the key liaison between Design & Release Engineers (DREs) and System Architects, ensuring that technical and regulatory needs are translated into clear, specific, and actionable requirements for the design, development, validation, and release of vehicle electrical and electronic components.

Utilizes Requirements Engineering methodologies to elicit, analyze, document, and maintain system requirements. Experienced in specialized tools such as IBM DOORS for requirements management, IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC) for workflow control, and JIRA for issue tracking.

Collaborates closely in system design and development, actively participating in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Applies analytical methods such as DFMEA to ensure the quality and reliability of the infotainment system, including the integration of advanced technologies such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Activities:

1. Requirements Definition & Management

• Write, update, and maintain technical requirements for the Infotainment subsystem (and Cabin Thermal & Safety, as applicable) throughout production phases.
• Conduct requirements elicitation through stakeholder interviews and workshops.
• Utilize IBM DOORS for requirements management and traceability.

2. Systems Analysis & Design

• Perform system requirements analysis using established engineering methodologies.
• Collaborate in the design and development of infotainment hardware and software systems.
• Support system modeling and architecture activities.
• Act as the key link between Design & Release Engineers (DREs) and System Architects.
• Work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure correct hardware–software integration.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve hardware and software system failures.
• Apply diagnostic tools to detect and address technical issues.

5. Project Tracking & Workflow Control

• Use IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC) and JIRA to manage workflows, tasks, and issue tracking.
• Contribute to the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for infotainment components.

6. Technical Documentation

• Create and maintain detailed records of diagnosed issues, implemented solutions, and established requirements.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, including specifications and reports.

Requirements

• University Degree (Bachelor’s or Engineering) in related fields such as: Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering
• Requirements Engineering: Basic level (0–1 years of experience in definition, management, and elicitation of requirements).
• Requirements Management with IBM DOORS: Basic level (0–1 years of experience).
• Workflow Control with IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC): Basic
