The role covers breeding and gestation, lactation, nursery, and gilt development, requiring hands-on leadership, strong biosecurity practices, and detailed record-keeping. You will manage staff, monitor health, and coordinate with farm management to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in pig farming and animal husbandry.
• Leadership and team supervision in a farming environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee genetic program implementation and monitoring for the breeding unit.
• Ensure heat detection, AI, semen collection, and gestation follow SOPs.
• Maintain breeder records and swine management software accuracy.
• Supervise health, nutrition, and welfare of pregnant sows.
• Prepare budgets and breeding projections; monitor unit costs.
• Coordinate with swine sales for hog classification and volume.
