Job summary

Lotte-Gulermak-EEI Joint Venture in Calamba, Laguna seeks a Surveyor/Instrument Man to support construction surveying under supervision. The role focuses on accurate setting out of points, instrument operation, and data collection for reports and as-built documentation.

You will operate Total Stations, GNSS/GPS, and leveling tools, interpret drawings, maintain equipment, and contribute to project QA/QC and HSE compliance while ensuring efficient field execution.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in surveying as a Surveyor or Instrument Man.
• Solid knowledge of surveying principles including basic trigonometry and leveling.
• Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
• Willing to work extended hours, rotating shifts, and under adverse weather/site conditions as required.
• Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork to coordinate with supervisors and co-workers.
• Committed to complying with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction surveying activities: setting out control points, reference lines, and layout points for construction works.
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments, including Total Stations, Automatic Levels, and GNSS/GPS equipment.
• Conduct field measurements and collect survey data for reports, drawings, calculations, and as-built documentation.
• Interpret drawings and plans, perform field calculations, and verify data for accuracy and compliance.
• Stay updated on surveying technologies and best practices, suggesting procedural improvements.
• Inspect and maintain instruments and accessories with valid calibration and report defects to the supervisor.
• Comply with QA/QC and HSE requirements while performing surveying activities.
• Perform other survey-related duties as assigned.

The Surveyor or Instrument Man performs construction surveying activities under the direct supervision of the Survey Engineer or Survey Manager. The role is responsible for supporting the accurate execution of survey works and ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of surveying equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in construction surveying activities, including setting out project control points, reference lines, and layout points required for construction works.


• Operate and maintain surveying instruments, including Total Stations, Automatic Levels, GNSS/GPS equipment, and other surveying tools required for project execution.


• Conduct accurate field measurements and efficiently collect survey data for use in preparing survey reports, drawings, calculations, and as-built documentation.


• Interpret engineering drawings and survey plans, perform field calculations, and verify survey data to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.


• Continuously enhance knowledge of current surveying technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices, and recommend improvements to survey procedures where appropriate.


• Inspect, clean, and maintain surveying instruments and accessories, ensuring they remain in good working condition with valid calibration and certification. Promptly report any defects, malfunctions, or equipment concerns to the Survey Engineer or Survey Manager.


• Comply with all project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements while performing surveying activities.


• Perform other survey-related duties as assigned by the Survey Engineer or Survey Manager in support of project objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Surveyor, Instrument Man, or in an equivalent surveying role.
