Job summary

Meralco is seeking a Procurement Engineer to create contracts and execute category plans that maximize financial and operational performance while minimizing risk. The role covers Substation to Transportation services, warehouse management, and general services essential to Meralco's operations.

The ideal candidate is a Licensed Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineer with at least 1 year in supply chain roles, capable of collaborating with multiple offices and working onsite in Ortigas, Pasig.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of supply chain processes and standards.
• Ability to establish rapport with suppliers, customers, and colleagues.
• Ability to persuade and explore positions to reach acceptance of outcomes.
• Understanding of financial management principles and quantitative info.

Responsibilities

• Implement and execute category plans and strategies.
• Ensure compliance with ERC Asset Procurement Guidelines.
• Facilitate contract creation, execution, and analysis to maximize financial and operational performance while minimizing risk.
• Manage contract lifecycle and vendor selection.
• Facilitate bid evaluations and vendor selections.
• Validate and issue Purchase Orders.
• Collaborate with offices to implement Supply Chain Policies and Guidelines.
• Support quality management processes in Supply Chain Management.

JOB SUMMARY

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for the creation of contracts, execution and analysis of category plans and strategies to maximize financial and operational performance while minimizing exposure to risks on the following areas but not limited to:

• Substation, Sub-Transmission Line and Distribution Line Works
• Customer-focused Services
• Professional/Technical and Network-related Services
• Administrative and Office Support Services
• Security Services
• Operations and Maintenance of Buildings, Grounds and Facilities
• Hauling and Transport Services
• Warehouse Management and Maintenance, and
• Other General Services that are essential to the operations of MERALCO.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implementation and execution of category plans and strategies
• Compliance to ERC Asset Procurement Guidelines
• Facilitation of contract creation, execution, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance and minimizing risk
• Contract Management
• Selection of Vendors
• Facilitation of the Evaluation of bids / tender of vendors
• Validation and releasing of Purchase Order
• Collaboration with various offices in the implementation of Company Policies and Guidelines on Supply Chain Management
• Participation and support in the quality management process and programs of the Supply Chain Management

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Knowledgeable in supply chain process and standard
• Ability to leverage interpersonal skills to establish rapport and develop relationships with all key stakeholders: suppliers, customers & colleagues.
• Ability to persuade, influence, and explore positions and alternatives to reach outcomes that will gain acceptance of all parties and will also meet the strategic procurement objectives.
• Has good understanding of financial management principles and other quantitative information.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a Licensed Electrical/ Mechanical/ Industrial Engineer
• Preferably with minimum of 1 year progressive experience in supply chain management roles
• Ability to collaborate with other offices, business units of the organization, organizing and planning exercises and/or horizontal joint effort activities
• Demonstrated skill in creating and maintaining databases and working with spreadsheets and complex models
• Has good business communication skills
• Exhibits integrity and has good moral character
• Preferably with progressive experience in supply chain management roles
• Willing to work onsite (Ortigas, Pasig)
