Job summary

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities with technical quality support, verification, inspection, and supplier documentation.

You will coordinate supplier sorting, rework, and evaluation, ensuring readiness for production and qualification. The role involves generating regular quality reports, reviewing SQIR and MDR, and collaborating with QE, Process, Eng'g, and Purchasing to resolve production and customer

Qualifications

• Graduate of a 3-year technical course or college degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Manufacturing Quality.
• Hands-on with measuring and inspection equipment (CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
• Knowledge of SPC, quality tools, and problem-solving methods (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specs, and technical docs.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, and supplier quality documentation.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100 or similar quality systems is an advantage.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.
• Self-motivation, proactivity, and willingness to learn new quality methods.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Generate regular quality reports and SCAR records.
• Review SQIR and MDR and formally inform the supplier.
• Participate in quality meetings and supplier visits.
• Coordinate supplier sorting, rework, and evaluations.
• Support QE, Process, Eng'g and Purchasing to resolve quality issues.
• Validate measurements and maintain QA documentation.
• Assist in PQCP reviews and supplier fabrication monitoring.

Job Summary

Support SQE Engineers in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by performing technical quality support, component verification, inspection and measurement support, supplier quality documentation, issue tracking and coordination activities to ensure successful product qualification and production readiness.

• Perform the following activities:
• Conduct reject component verification during NPI stages from Production, IQC and Customer.
• Handle administrative tasks such as:
• Compilation and uploading of NPI data into systems.
• Review and validation of SQIR from Production, IQC and internal teams.
• Issuance of Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR)
• Support daily operations across Production, IQC and customer requirements.
• Coordinate supplier sorting, rework, and evaluation activities.
• Oversee/collaborate on IQC measurement activities for NPI component.
• Follow up on supplier issues and pending requirements.
• Propose and support supplier improvement initiatives to meet quality objectives and monitor supplier performance for new products.
• Support internal teams such as QE, Process, Eng'g and purchasing in resolving production and customer quality issues related to supplier materials.
• Participate in factory quality meetings and supplier visit/meetings.
• Support product development activities such as: PQCP reviews, Supplier fabrication monitoring, other related tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a 3-year technical course or college graduate in the field of Engineering, preferably Mechanical Eng'g or related field
• Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Manufacturing Quality within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the use of measuring and inspection equipment, including 2D and 3D measurement systems (e.g., CMM, Vision Systems, Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges).
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), quality tools, and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA).
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ability to prepare technical reports, inspection reports, and supplier quality documentation.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or other relevant quality management systems is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn new technologies and quality methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
