Job summary

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. in the Philippines is seeking an NPI Quality Engineer to drive quality deliverables for new product introductions during initial launch phases, reporting to the NPI Quality Manager.

The role ensures readiness, manages PFMEA/CP, conducts gate reviews, and collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering on control plans and quality tooling to support successful product launches.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field.
• Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability.
• Practical experience in APQP tools and NPI program management.
• Proficient with 8D problem-solving methods.
• Familiar with quality tools: FMEA, MSA, SPC and related controls.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications for quality parameters.

Responsibilities

• Liaison for Advanced Quality Planning activities including internal gate reviews with the Business Unit and program team.
• Ensure product specifications fully comply for sample shipment.
• Ensure execution of PQP from design site QPM.
• Support PFMEA to meet functional specs and transfer controls to the Control Plan.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering on Poke Yoke and Control Plan controls.
• Confirm readiness for launching programs and product/process changes.
• Attend launch program meetings and customer process reviews/audits.
• Develop Production Process Control Plan, CTQ, and Safe Launch Plan and update until start.
• Monitor FA part approval of supplied components.
• Conduct program gate reviews confirming MRM activities with evidence and timely documents.
• Ensure MSA studies and adequate Gage R&R for launches.

Position Summary

The NPI Quality Engineer is responsible for manufacturing location’s NPI deliverables and confirms completion of the site’s quality documents required internally and by the customer during the initial launch phases of a product, in conjunction with NPI team. This role will report to the NPI Quality Manager.

Responsibilities

• Liaison for the site for all Advanced Quality Planning activities including internal gate reviews with the Business Unit and with the program team.
• Ensure that product specifications fully compliance for sample shipment.
• Ensure execution of PQP (Product Quality Planning) delivered from design site QPM (Quality program manager)
• Support PFMEA activity to ensure functional specification requirements are fully met and confirm controls carried into the Control Plan
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering on the development and implementation of any Poke Yoke strategy and confirm controls carried into the Control Plan
• Responsible for the confirmation and completion of the manufacturing location’s readiness for launching programs and product/process changes.
• Support and attend launch program meetings and customer process reviews/audits.
• Coordinates the development of production process Control Plan, CTQ and Safe Launch Plan and keep update until formal program start of production.
• Monitors the FA part approval of supplied components.
• Conduct program gate reviews to confirm site MRM (Manufacturing readiness Matrix) activities are complete with the appropriate evidence, readiness assessment is completed and all site MRM documents are on time to program commitments.
• Ensure MSA studies and adequate Gage R&R for launching programs are conducted.

Qualifications

• Minimum Five (5) years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is a must
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution
• Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability.
• Practical experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, tool usage and NPI program management
• Competent in problem solving tools such as 8D methodology: Is-Is Not, Fishbone diagram, Brainstorming, 3x5 Why
• Competent in quality tools, and process/production control methods such as Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, SPC and Product life cycle and Reliability
• Ability to read and interpret specifications to ensure the understanding of the agreed quality parameters and product specific requirements.
• Willing to be based in Rosario, Cavite.
