Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation invites applications for a Superintendent - Electrical Projects at the Didipio mine in the Philippines. You will directly manage all major electrical projects within Capital Projects, reporting to the Manager - Capital Projects, on a fixed-term basis of two years.

You will lead a team of Electrical Project Engineers and construction coordinators, drive safety and risk management, and coordinate with operations to ensure high-quality project delivery and continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering is required.
• Registered Electrical Engineer with a valid PRC license.
• Professional Electrical Engineer credential is required.
• Amenable to a 2-year fixed-term appointment.
• 7+ years' experience delivering projects in heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible field presence and drive safety verifications on site.
• Coach Electrical Project Engineers and Coordinators in CCVs and time-in-field safety.
• Implement risk management tools across active projects (FRA, HAZOP, CHAZOP, SIL).
• Lead the Electrical Project team with clear roles and performance expectations.
• Identify resources and liaise between Electrical Project team and other groups.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration for project delivery goals.
• Prepare project documentation for all delivery phases (URS, SoW, PEP).
• Interface with operational departments to ensure smooth project interactions.
• Ensure projects meet required specifications and standards.
• Drive continuous improvement across accountability areas.

Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper.Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliableSuperintendent - Electrical Projects to directly manage the delivery of all major electrical projects in the Capital Projects Department Portfolio reporting to the Manager - Capital Projects.

Fixed Term: 2-years

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence in the field whilst on-site by completing Critical Control Verifications (CCVs) and/or Task Observations with direct reports and peers from the Project Development and Construction teams
• Provide coaching and mentoring to the Electrical Project Engineers and Construction Coordinators in the completion of CCVs and drive accountability for meeting time-in-field safety commitments
• Establish and maintain systems that ensure that design works for active projects are carried out using the appropriate risk management tools including FRA's, HAZOP's, CHAZOP's, SIL Studies, Design and Constructability Reviews.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to the Electrical Project team, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations
• Assist the Manager - Capital Projects in identifying resource skills and opportunities within the Electrical Project team and act as the liaison between these resources
• Create an environment of collaboration between Electrical Project Engineers and the Engineering and Construction teams to support delivery of project goals and establish and maintain systems that foster cross-functional collaboration
• Establish and maintain systems that ensure project documentation is prepared for all phases of project delivery including Concept Studies, User Requirement Specifications (URS), Scope of Work (SoW) and Project Execution Plan (PEP)
• Accountable for the establishment of interface meetings with operational departments to ensure interactions associated with projects under management are identified and managed.
• Accountable for ensuring that projects under management are completed to the required specifications
• Undertake a program of continuous improvement across all areas of accountability.
