Teksteel Drafting Services in Cebu, Philippines, hires for office-based structural steel modelling using Tekla Structures. You will interpret drawings, model steel geometry, and consider fabrication and erection implications while coordinating with stakeholders.
Two years of hands-on Tekla experience is preferred, with strong problem solving and clear English communication. As responsibilities grow, you will tackle more complex geometry, interfaces and set-out, with QA guidance to improve
You compare drawings before modelling. You think about how a connection will be fabricated and how the steel will be erected. When information conflicts, you investigate and ask a clear question. When you receive feedback, you use it to improve your next model.
Perhaps you have solid Tekla experience, but limited opportunities to stretch yourself. You want your thinking heard, your skills developed and the chance to take on more challenging work.
If you have at least two years of hands-on structural steel modelling experience using Tekla Structures and that describes how you work, we’d like to hear from you. Your experience may be entirely in US standards—you don’t need Australian project experience to apply.
Teksteel Drafting Services is the Cebu arm of English Steel Drafting, an Australian business operating since 2010.
Our work spans high-rise complexes, stadiums, data centres, shopping centres, and commercial and government projects. These projects bring demanding geometry, connections, building interfaces and fabrication requirements—and opportunities to understand how your modelling decisions affect the workshop and site.
Our global teams work closely together to turn design information into coordinated models, fabrication drawings and site drawings that meet our quality standards. As we grow, capable modellers will have support to develop their craft and take on greater responsibility. Leadership opportunities may emerge for those who demonstrate consistent performance, sound judgement and the ability to help others succeed.
You want to learn—and your work shows it.
You seek to understand the reasoning behind a detail. You apply feedback, check whether the same issue exists elsewhere and change your approach so the lesson carries into future work.
You communicate before a problem grows.
You can explain technical issues clearly in English. You speak up when information is missing, a decision needs confirmation or a commitment is at risk. You are comfortable acknowledging uncertainty.
You investigate before asking.
You review the available information and bring a useful question: what you found, what you checked, what you think and where you need guidance.
You own the quality of your model.
You use a deliberate checking process to find clashes, inconsistencies and errors before submission. If you discover a mistake, you raise it and work through the correction.
You want greater technical responsibility.
As your capability grows, you want to tackle more difficult geometry, interfaces, set-out and connections. Progression comes through demonstrated judgement and reliable work.
You’ll produce structural steel models in Tekla Structures, starting with work suited to your current capability and building from there.
We expect you to ask questions, use technical feedback and progressively demonstrate that you’re ready for greater complexity. Your responsibilities will include:
You’ll report to the Project Manager for allocation and priorities, with QA Leads providing technical guidance, verification and feedback.
Your experience may be entirely in US standards. That’s welcome. You don’t need previous Australian project experience to apply. You need sound steel modelling fundamentals, the ability to explain your thinking, and a strong drive to learn and apply a different detailing approach.
Fabrication or site erection exposure, structural set-out, advanced connection modelling, disciplined numbering and an interest in Tekla automation are valuable advantages. Your initial work allocation will reflect the capability you can demonstrate.
Your capability should create your opportunity.
You don’t need a senior title to have your thinking heard. We value people who notice problems, investigate them and improve—and assign more challenging work as they demonstrate readiness.
Challenging work with a physical outcome.
Your models help turn complex design information into steel that can be fabricated and erected. You’ll develop a deeper understanding of what happens after the model leaves your screen.
Close collaboration with Australia.
You’ll work alongside our Australian team, developing your understanding of Australian project requirements and detailing practices.
Technical guidance you can apply.
You’ll learn ESD standards and workflows, with access to QA Leads to discuss technical questions and understand the reasoning behind feedback. We expect you to turn that guidance into stronger decisions on your next assignment.
A culture where questions and improvement matter.
We expect people to speak up, take feedback seriously and help each other improve. We want you to contribute your thinking and develop confidence in your technical decisions.
