Job summary

Sta. Clara International Corporation is seeking a Steelman to lay out and fabricate structural steel for metal structures. The role involves interpreting blueprints, cutting steel, and working with concrete reinforcing bars.

Responsibilities include cutting steel bars, determining quantities from blueprints, assembling bars in forms, erecting steel frames, and ensuring safety and housekeeping standards are followed.

Responsibilities

• Cut steel bars to required lengths, using metal shears, bar cutters or acetylene torches
• Determine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing steel bars from blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions
• Space and fasten together steel bars in forms according to blueprints, using wire and pliers
• Erect or install steel frames and other construction materials to form structures
• Connect steel columns, beams, and girders
• Unload and pile steel bars properly
• Bend steel bars with hand tools or bending machines
• Follow housekeeping procedures and other safety regulations
