Job summary

Aboitiz Power Corp in the Philippines is seeking a Strategy Manager to lead the development, alignment, documentation, and monitoring of the company strategy. You will model long-term market conditions and electricity prices using industry-standard tools and coordinate cross-functional planning.

The role requires gathering industry intelligence locally and abroad, evaluating new business models, and advising on investments, mergers, and acquisitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, finance, marketing or a related field.
• Master’s degree is advantageous for advancement.
• Minimum 3 years in strategic planning and business process management.
• Experience with electricity market modelling and forecasting tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, align, document, and monitor company strategy.
• Model and forecast long-term market conditions and electricity prices using EMCAS, Marketsym, Aurora, Plexos.
• Gather and analyze industry and competitive intelligence locally and abroad.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new business models and projects.
• Monitor potential industry disruptors and assess their impact on the company.
• Assess and recommend investments, performing due diligence and risk/benefit analysis.
• Collaborate with Accounting to analyze competitors’ financial positions and identify acquisition opportunities.
• Propose significant organizational changes such as shifts in strategic focus, mergers, and acquisitions.
• Support AP/AEV Business Development by delivering medium- and long-term market forecasts and quantifying risks and value opportunities.

• Gather and analyze industry and competitive intelligence, locally and abroad.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new business models and projects.
• Monitor potential industry disruptors (technology, legal, political) and assess their impact on the company.
• Assess and recommend investments in venture capital opportunities, performing due diligence and risk/benefit analysis.
• Collaborate with the Accounting team to provide regular analysis of competitors’ financial positions and identify acquisition opportunities.
• Propose significant organizational changes such as shifts in strategic focus, mergers, and acquisitions.
• Support AP/AEV Business Development by delivering medium‑ and long‑term market forecasts and quantifying risks and value opportunities to aid decisions on building, buying, or divesting assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, or a related 4‑year course.
• Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years combined experience in strategic planning and business process management.
• Experience in electricity market modelling and forecasting tools (e.g., EMCAS, Marketsym, Aurora, Plexos) is preferred.
