Job summary

Europlan Group is seeking a Market Analyst to support the delivery of actionable market intelligence across key energy sectors, including HVDC cables, offshore wind, BESS, electricity grids, and hydrogen.

The role will support business development activities by identifying market opportunities, tracking industry developments, and strengthening client engagement efforts across the UK, Europe, and global markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Energy Studies, Economics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in market research, business intelligence, or business development support, ideally within renewable energy or engineering sectors.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and project lifecycles, particularly HVDC cables, offshore wind, BESS, and hydrogen.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Proficiency in MS Office and market intelligence / CRM tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, BNEF, Rystad).
• Knowledge of key stakeholders across UK and European energy markets.
• Experience working across international markets and time zones.
• Strong analytical and commercial mindset.
• Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Collaborative team player comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and competitor analysis across HVDC, offshore wind, BESS, electricity grid, and hydrogen sectors.
• Track and monitor market trends, policy developments, project pipelines, and investment activity across UK, European, and global markets.
• Maintain and update databases of market activity, prospective projects, and client pipelines within internal systems.
• Identify and qualify prospective clients, developers, and partners within target sectors.
• Support outreach activities, including drafting introductory communications and coordinating follow-ups with potential clients.
• Monitor relevant industry events, conferences, and exhibitions; support company participation and engagement planning.
• Collaborate with the Head of Business Development to produce market intelligence reports, briefings, and sales enablement materials.
• Contribute to business development strategy by providing insights on market positioning, opportunities, and competitive dynamics.
• Assist in the preparation of client briefing packs, proposals, and tender intelligence.
• Provide regular updates on market developments, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to internal stakeholders.
