Qualifications

• Educational background as Industrial Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, or a business-related degree.

Responsibilities

• Initiates quote process for services, supplies and equipment.
• Consults with users to develop specifications.
• Prepares and processes purchasing forms such as purchase orders; makes recommendations.
• Verifies receipt of items by comparing to items ordered; resolves shipments with suppliers.
• Monitors all open purchase orders throughout the ordering and delivery process.
• Ensures deliveries satisfy assigned purchase orders; reports back-ordered or missing items.
• Develops sources of supply and maintains relationships with suppliers; tracks trends.
• Reconciles stores inventory and monitors stock levels.
• Develops strategies and identifies buying trends to keep the business profitable.
• Searches products to optimize quality, price, and delivery.
• Negotiates policies and contracts with suppliers.
• Monitors shipments, traces undelivered goods when problems occur.
• Identifies damaged items and works out solutions with suppliers.
• Maintains relationships with key suppliers; supports budgeting and cost saving.
• Maintains records of purchases, costs, delivery, and inventories.
• Tracks market conditions and price trends affecting supply and demand.
• Attends supplier visits and conferences to stay informed about industry changes.
• Assist continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.
