JOB OVERVIEW:
A Finance Manager is a strategic leader responsible for maintaining an organization’s financial health through meticulous data analysis, budgeting, and long-term planning. They oversee the preparation of financial reports, monitor cash flow, and ensure that all fiscal activities comply with legal regulations and internal policies. Beyond day-to-day operations, they serve as key advisors to senior management by identifying investment opportunities, managing financial risks, and developing cost-reduction strategies to drive profitability. This role requires a high level of analytical precision, proficiency in financial software, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Financial Reporting & Analysis: Preparing and presenting accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. They analyze variances between actual results and budgets to provide actionable insights.
· Budgeting & Forecasting: Leading the annual budget process and creating rolling financial forecasts to predict future revenue, expenses, and capital requirements.
· Cash Flow Management: Monitoring daily liquidity and managing working capital to ensure the company can meet its financial obligations to vendors, employees, and lenders.
· Risk Management & Compliance: Identifying financial risks (such as credit or market fluctuations) and ensuring all activities comply with tax laws, financial regulations, and internal audit standards.
· Strategic Planning: Evaluating the financial impact of new business opportunities, such as service expansions, equipment purchases, or entering new markets.
· Stakeholder Management: Coordinating with internal departments such as HR for payroll and Accounting for liquidations and managing relationships with external partners like banks, insurance providers, and government agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
· Master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred for strategic roles.
· Licensure: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant)
· Proven Track Record: At least 5-10 years of experience in financial management, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
· Systems Proficiency: Advanced expertise in ERP software and cloud-based accounting platforms.
· Data Analysis: Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macros, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
· Financial Intelligence: Deep understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
· Strategic Planning: Ability to conduct complex financial modeling, forecasting, and "what-if" scenario analysis to guide business growth.
· Communication: Strong ability to translate dense financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders and executive leadership.
· Leadership: Proven ability to manage a team, oversee payroll/audit processes, and collaborate across departments (HR, Sales, and Operations).
