Job summary

Maxicare Healthcare Corporation in Makati is seeking a Category Officer for MaxiGroup Procurement. The role leads end-to-end procurement within assigned categories, driving strategy, supplier selection, and cost optimization.

You will collaborate with finance, operations, legal, and other teams to deliver value-driven procurement, monitor supplier performance, and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain; masters/certifications are an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years in category management, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles, supplier management, contract negotiation, and market trends.
• Excellent analytical skills with spend analysis, supplier evaluations, and market research.
• Experience with procurement tools and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Ariba).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in strategic sourcing and supplier performance management.
• Knowledge of category-specific regulations and sustainability considerations.
• Advanced data analysis skills using Excel, Power BI, etc.

Responsibilities

• Category Management: Develop and execute category-specific strategies aligned with goals, ensuring optimal sourcing decisions.
• Spend analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, and process improvements.
• Manage end-to-end procurement for specific categories from needs to contracts and performance reviews.
• Review category performance and implement improvements.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build relationships, negotiate long-term contracts driving value and quality.
• Monitor supplier performance against terms; track cost, quality, lead times, service levels.
• Lead supplier selection including RFPs, bids, and negotiations for best-value suppliers.
• Resolve supplier performance issues to ensure continuity and compliance.
• Market Research & Analysis: stay updated on trends, new suppliers, technologies for value/cost savings.
• Provide category insights to senior management for strategy, forecasts, and budgets.
• Contract Management & Compliance: assist in negotiation and contract drafting; ensure compliance.
• Monitor contract performance and timelines; ensure quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate priorities into procurement actions.
• Continuous Improvement: identify process improvements and cost reductions; implement best practices.
• Training and development; participate in ongoing procurement education.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor, Strategic Procurement Manager, or COO.
