Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Specialist II in Buying Planning to apply supply planning knowledge across plant sites, identify and procure goods, and ensure materials arrive on time to avoid delays.

The role involves issuing POs, expediting orders, managing shortages, analyzing invoices, resolving quality issues, and collaborating with vendors to meet delivery dates while supporting S&OP and inventory goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or related fields.
• 2.5 years of experience in Buying, Production Planning and Control, S&OP, Procurement, Inventory Management and Supply Chain with data mining, manipulation, analysis and reporting.
• Intermediate understanding of Supply Chain systems (MRP, ERP), tools and applications.
• Familiarity with Supply Chain Commodities, Data Analysis, Material Requirement Planning, Metrics Reporting and Gap Analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue purchase orders and manage supplier acknowledgments.
• Expedite purchase orders and communicate delivery information to impacted departments.
• Manage material shortages, short shipments, and buy lists.
• Analyze invoice discrepancies and communicate resolutions to collaborators based on standard processes.
• Resolve Quality and Non-Conformance Material Reports.
• Contact vendors and shippers to improve or validate acknowledgment details such as price, date, quantity, unit of measure, and shipment and ensure that materials are shipped on the specified shipping date.
• Actively participate in review meetings involving Material Requirements Planning, Shortages, Inventory Reduction, Service Levels, and Sales and Operations Planning processes.
