Job summary

ACJB Savory and Sweet Corporation in the Philippines is looking for a Steward / Kitchen Assistant to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and back-of-house areas while supporting the kitchen team with basic operational tasks.

You will follow health, sanitation, and food safety policies, wear the prescribed uniform, wash hands regularly, and work collaboratively with Kitchen Staff, Waitstaff, Cashier, Supervisor, and other employees to ensure smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and store plates, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, sinks, counters, and tables.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas before and after use.
• Dispose of garbage and waste; segregate waste per company procedures.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation and ingredient organization.
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries when assigned.
• Check food items and supplies for proper condition and report damaged or expired items.
• Replenish kitchen supplies, condiments, utensils, and other items.
• Handle kitchen equipment and cleaning materials properly; report malfunctions.
• Work cooperatively with Kitchen Staff, Waitstaff, Cashier, Supervisor, and other employees.

About the role

The Steward / Kitchen Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and proper functioning of the kitchen and back-of-house areas while assisting the kitchen team with basic operational tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store plates, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, sinks, counters, tables, and other work areas
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas before and after use
• Properly dispose of garbage, food waste, and other waste materials and segregate waste according to company procedures
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and organizing ingredients as instructed
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries when assigned
• Check food items and supplies for proper condition and report damaged, spoiled, or expired items
• Replenish kitchen supplies, condiments, utensils, and other items when needed
• Handle kitchen equipment, utensils, and cleaning materials properly and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment immediately to the Supervisor
• Work cooperatively with the Kitchen Staff, Waitstaff, Cashier, Supervisor, and other employees
