Job summary

Jobtailor in Manila, Philippines, is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and implement backend services using Python FastAPI and deliver robust REST APIs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of software development experience with hands-on delivery in Python and React.
• Proficiency in building REST API services using FastAPI, including endpoint definition and Pydantic models.
• Experience building React components with modern JavaScript (ES6+), state management, and REST API integration.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python FastAPI backend services and REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain React.js frontend components with state management and UI responsiveness.
• Write and maintain PostgreSQL queries, support schema updates, and assist with data migrations.
• Assist with REST API integrations to third-party documentation platforms by consuming APIs and data transformations.
• Apply SDLC practices and deliver production releases across the portfolio.
• Debug and resolve issues across FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and React layers and escalate complex root causes.
• Write clean, documented, and reusable code, participate in code reviews, and maintain API documentation and test cases.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, and System Analysts to understand requirements and deliver on time.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and CI/CD delivery practices using Azure DevOps.
