Role

Staff Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) combine hands-on engineering with senior technical leadership to solve ambiguous, high-impact customer problems and translate field learning into reusable product capabilities and technical strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the most complex customer engagements and technical workstreams, especially where the problem, solution, or path to production is ambiguous.


• Build deep understanding of customer architecture, goals, constraints, and success criteria to shape technical approaches.


• Act as a trusted technical counterpart to customer engineering leaders and internal product and engineering stakeholders.


• Lead architectural design for customer-facing solutions and platform capabilities; balance hands-on implementation with cross-team technical decision-making.


• Turn ambiguous, high-level problems into clear technical direction, implementation plans, milestones, and ownership boundaries.


• Continue to write and review production-quality code, troubleshoot complex failures, and ensure correctness, maintainability, observability, and operational readiness.


• Identify systemic tooling, architecture, or delivery issues and drive durable, cross-engagement fixes.


• Use field engagements to surface product gaps, domain patterns, and technical risks; translate these into proposals and roadmap input.


• Lead focused cross-functional workstreams and drive consensus on large technical issues using durable written artifacts (designs, decision logs, proposals).


• Mentor senior engineers, share best practices, and improve organizational mechanisms, standards, and operating practices.

Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant engineering experience, including hands-on production systems and complex customer or enterprise environments.


• Demonstrated success leading technical domains or initiatives that span multiple teams with ownership of technical direction and delivery outcomes.


• Strong experience designing and implementing production-grade integrations, platforms, or distributed systems in ambiguous environments.


• Strong technical judgment to balance customer impact, speed, maintainability, and operational risk.


• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, shape technical direction from customer context, and raise engineering standards through mentorship and leadership.


• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% to customer sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with LLMs, agent frameworks, retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks, or deploying AI systems in production enterprise environments.


• Prior experience in a forward-deployed engineering or similar hybrid role spanning customer environments, product influence, and hands-on execution.


• Experience leading multi-team technical initiatives from problem definition through adoption in ambiguous, cross-functional environments.

Location & Working Model

• Role is based in Gurugram for a hybrid working model; candidates should be located in Gurugram and able to support on-site customer engagements as required.
