Job summary

Peak Outsourcing, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to execute monthly balance sheet reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and support the monthly close.

The candidate should have strong US GAAP knowledge and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Responsibilities include reconciliations, maintaining GL, and assisting with GAAP compliance while collaborating with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• CPA with at least 5 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and MS Office proficiency.
• Sage Intacct experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly balance sheet, bank, and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries and analyses.
• Assist with the monthly close process and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Support other accounting areas and projects as needed.
• Identify variances and research discrepancies as part of month-end close.

Role Overview

The Staff Accountant plays a key role on the finance team by executing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and researching variances, and preparing necessary correcting journal entries. This position requires strong US GAAP knowledge, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Essential Duties

• Prepare monthly balance sheet, bank, and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries and financial analyses.
• Assist with the monthly close process and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Support other accounting areas and projects as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Must be a CPA with at least 5 years of accounting experience; law or consulting firm background preferred.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Technical: Strong command of US GAAP and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Sage Intacct experience is a plus.
• Key Competencies: Advanced analytical abilities, precise attention to detail, strong time management under tight deadlines, and excellent written and verbal communication.
