FPT Software Philippines Corporation is seeking a senior SQL Server DBA to support the customer’s SQL environment. You will work closely with the DBA Lead on proactive administration, operational support, and project execution while identifying and prioritizing duties with minimal direction.

The role demands independence, strong problem ownership, and the ability to balance production support with continuous improvement in a hybrid work setting.

Qualificações

• Must have 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience.
• Proven experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration.
• Strong skills in performance tuning and query optimization.
• Experience with backup, recovery, high availability, and production support.
• Experience with SQL Server upgrades, patching, monitoring, and alerting.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and independent problem ownership.
• Ability to work independently and proactively.

Responsabilidades

• Administer SQL Server environments, including monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, upgrades, patching, security, and operational support.
• Support business projects, enhancements, migrations, and application initiatives.
• Work directly with business stakeholders, project teams, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors.
• Proactively identify risks, performance issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Drive issues through resolution and demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Partner closely with the DBA Lead to maintain a stable, secure, and high-performing SQL environment.

Job Overview

Serve as a senior DBA supporting the customer's SQL environment, partnering closely with the DBA Lead to deliver proactive administration, operational support, project execution, and continuous improvement. This role requires a self-starter capable of identifying, prioritizing, and executing DBA responsibilities without requiring detailed direction.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server environments, including monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, upgrades, patching, security, and operational support.
• Support business projects, enhancements, migrations, and application initiatives.
• Work directly with business stakeholders, project teams, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors.
• Proactively identify risks, performance issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Drive issues through resolution and demonstrate ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Partner closely with the DBA Lead to maintain a stable, secure, and high-performing SQL environment.

Team Expectations

• Act as a ready backup to the DBA Lead and be prepared to independently support the environment during planned absences.
• Coordinate PTO, holidays, and coverage plans with the DBA Lead to ensure continuous support and avoid overlapping absences that could impact business operations.

Job Qualifications

Must Have Skill/s:

• At least 5+ yrs of SQL Server DBA experience
• Microsoft SQL Server administration
• Performance tuning and query optimization
• Backup, recovery, high availability, and production support
• SQL Server upgrades, patching, monitoring, and alerting
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Stakeholder communication and independent problem ownership
• Proven ability to work independently and proactively.

Schedule

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time with a one-hour lunch break.

Flexibility for planned maintenance, upgrades, and production support activities.

Good to Have Skill/s:

• Snowflake
• Azure SQL
• AWS-hosted SQL Server
• Regulated industry or insurance domain experience

Work Arrangement:

• Work set-up: Hybrid/Flexible
• Work schedule: Night shift (10pm-7pm)
• Work location: Makati Paseo / IT Park Cebu ; Open to Manila and Cebu based candidates.
