Job summary

AboitizPower is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to coordinate brownfield projects across Toledo sites.

You will work with internal O&M, engineering, SCM, and HSE teams as well as external contractors to ensure projects are safe, reliable, and delivered as designed, while developing your skills in a supportive environment. Responsibilities include planning resources, managing budgets, and delivering project controls with strict regard to safety, quality, and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field with >10 years as project engineer/manager.
• 3+ years of experience in project engineering within power generation.
• 2+ years of experience in project management; PMP preferred.
• Experience with OEM power generation equipment, gas/LNG-to-power projects, plant maintenance or reliability engineering is a strong plus.
• COSH (Safety Officer 2) training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe, reliable, and quality execution of brownfield project scope, schedule, and budget across sites.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, supply chain, SHE, and project proponents to track progress, manage risks, and escalate critical issues.
• Plan resources and schedules, acquire internal approvals (MoC, etc.), and deliver Project Controls and Operations Readiness requirements.
• Ensure adherence to Occupational Safety & Health, environmental standards, and ISO management systems; conduct safety walkthroughs.

As Sr. Project Engineer, you will coordinate and ensure that brownfield project scopes are executed safely, reliably, and as designed across site facilities, contributing directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with internal O&M, engineering, SCM, and HSE teams as well as external contractors and OEM suppliers to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be

• Responsible for the safe, reliable, and quality execution of approved brownfield project scope, schedule, and budget across sites.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, supply chain, SHE, and project proponents to track progress, manage risks and opportunities, and **escalate** critical issues in a timely manner.
• Manage project implementation by planning resources and schedules, acquiring internal approvals (such as Management of Change), and delivering Project Controls and Operations Readiness requirements.
• Ensure strict adherence to Occupational Safety & Health, environmental standards, and ISO management systems, executing Stop Work Authority when necessary and conducting safety walkthroughs.

• Possesses strong analytical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills to manage diverse internal and external stakeholders effectively.
• Shows deep technical expertise in thermal energy systems, power project execution, and interpreting complex technical drawings and contracts.
• Maintains high standards of safety leadership, active risk identification, and commitment to compliance with quality and EHS policies.
• Demonstrates strong organization and business communication skills to maintain accurate project records and deliver executive status reporting.

What You Will Need

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or a technical course graduate with >10 years of experience as a project engineer/manager).
  • At least 3 years of experience in project engineering within the power generation industry.
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management.
  • Experience with OEM power generation equipment, gas-fired/LNG-to-power projects, plant maintenance practices, or reliability engineering is a strong plus.
  • PMP certification and COSH (Safety Officer 2) training preferred.
• Technical / Functional Skills:
  • Proficiency in project management techniques, project dashboard tracking, and Management of Change (MoC) processes.
  • Strong skills in thermal energy systems, combined cycle power plant operations/commissioning, and risk and opportunity management.
