Job summary

ProV International PH seeks a Senior Oracle Database & Linux Administrator to ensure secure, stable, and efficient Oracle database platforms. The role emphasizes DB administration, migrations, backups, and upgrades, with collaboration across the Linux team for enterprise operations.

The candidate will lead automation efforts (Python/Ansible) and contribute to technical designs, monitoring, and documentation, acting as escalation point for complex issues while driving excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, patching, backup and recovery.
• Experience with Data Guard administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience planning and executing migrations and upgrades.
• RMAN, Data Pump, OPatch, and Enterprise Manager proficiency.
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills; secure access controls and compliance.
• Backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery testing expertise.
• Linux administration on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6–10) and related skills.

Job description

The Senior Oracle Database & Linux Administrator is responsible for the secure, stable, and efficient operation of enterprise Oracle database platforms.

The primary focus of the role is Oracle database administration, including database lifecycle management, Data Guard, backup and recovery, migrations, upgrades, performance optimization, and operational support.

In addition to Oracle database responsibilities, the role is expected to contribute to Linux administration activities, primarily in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, and collaborate closely with the Linux infrastructure team.

The position combines operational support, project delivery, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. As a senior technical specialist, the successful candidate will act as an escalation point for complex issues, contribute to technical designs and drive standardization and operational excellence.

Required Skills and Experience

Oracle Database

• Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, performance tuning, patching, backup and recovery.
• Proven experience with Oracle Data Guard administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience planning and executing database migrations and version upgrades.
• Strong experience with RMAN, Data Pump, OPatch, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Advanced SQL skills and practical PL/SQL experience.
• Experience in managing database security, access controls, and operational compliance requirements.
• Experience planning and executing backup, restore, recovery, and disaster recovery testing activities.
• Strong administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (from RHEL 6 to RHEL 10).
• Practical experience with Linux patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, storage, networking, and system maintenance.
• Good understanding of Linux environments supporting Oracle database workloads.
• Ability to troubleshoot across databases, operating system, storage, and network components.

Automation
