Job summary

Prov International (Philippines) Inc is seeking a Senior Oracle Database & Linux Administrator to ensure secure, stable Oracle database platforms and Linux environments. You will handle lifecycle management, Data Guard, backup/recovery, migrations, upgrades, and performance optimization, while collaborating with the Linux infra team.

You will contribute to automation using Bash, Python, Ansible, and Git, and act as an escalation point for complex issues.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Oracle DB administration in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle architecture, tuning, patching, backup and recovery.
• Experience with Data Guard and disaster recovery planning.
• Experience planning migrations and upgrades of Oracle versions.
• Advanced SQL and PL/SQL, with security and compliance focus.
• Strong Linux administration in RHEL environments and integration with Oracle.
• Automation and scripting for ops, with Python/ Bash; familiar with Ansible and Git.

Responsibilities

• ADMINISTER enterprise Oracle databases with lifecycle management.

Senior Oracle Database & Linux Administrator

Role Purpose

The Senior Oracle Database & Linux Administrator is responsible for the secure, stable, and efficient operation of enterprise Oracle database platforms. The primary focus of the role is Oracle database administration, including database lifecycle management, Data Guard, backup and recovery, migrations, upgrades, performance optimization, and operational support. In addition to Oracle database responsibilities, the role is expected to contribute to Linux administration activities, primarily in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, and collaborate closely with the Linux infrastructure team. The position combines operational support, project delivery, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. As a senior technical specialist, the successful candidate will act as an escalation point for complex issues, contribute to technical designs and drive standardization and operational excellence.

Required Skills and Experience

• Oracle DatabaseExtensive hands-on experience administering Oracle databases in enterprise production environments.
