Job summary

Likas Yaman Service Corporation in Batangas City is seeking an engineer to study and analyze construction drawings, perform structural calculations, and support other sections. The role involves material take-off with AutoCAD, preparing BOMs for procurement, and coordinating via VSCC meetings to ensure compliance with standards.

You will perform on-site inspections, prepare as-built drawings, WCR and JOV for billing, and handle additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required; Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' related industry experience.
• Proficiency in reading hull and outfit drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Studies and analyzes construction and detailed drawings/documents to provide assistance to other sections.
• Performs structural engineering calculations and analysis by computing steel weight and surface areas.
• Prepare material take-off through reference drawing, AutoCAD application and specification to facilitate material estimation.
• Prepares bill of materials to facilitate material estimation for procurement purposes.
• Liaises with operations and sub-constructors by attending vessel safety coordination committee (VSCC) meeting and project meeting to ensure works are carried according to engineering construction standards.
• Performs on-site inspection to verify construction is done according to drawings and specification
• Prepares as-built drawings by verifying and taking measurement on-site updating and revising drawings to record and document changes made by production with the assistance of draftsman
• Prepares work completion report (WCR) and job variation JOV for verification of section head – engineering and planning, approval of assigned project manager and acceptance of owner representatives (OR) to be submitted to commercial department for billing purposes
• Performs other functions which may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS

• College graduates in any engineering course, preferably Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and Electrical Engineering
• With at least 2 years’ work experience in related industry
• Analytical skills / Mathematical Skills / Proficient in MS Office (MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint) and Auto CAD.
• Comprehension in reading and understanding hull and outfit construction and detailed drawings
• Communication skills, verbally and in writing
• Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
