- Prepare, review, and revise ship designs, drawings, and calculations including hull form, stability, strength, and arrangement plans.
- Provide technical solutions for ship repair, conversion, and retrofitting works.
- Coordinate closely with production, fabrication, and outfitting teams to ensure designs are correctly implemented.
- Provide on-site technical supervision during construction, repair, and dry-docking activities.
- Review work methods and sequences to ensure compliance with design and safety requirements.
- Attend toolbox meetings and technical coordination meetings
- Prepare and submit technical documentation for approvals and certifications.
- Assist in preparing technical specifications, material take-offs, and cost estimates.
- Monitor progress of engineering-related deliverables against project schedules.
- Support commissioning and sea trial activities as required.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and as-built drawings.
- Maintain proper records of approved plans, revisions, and technical correspondence.
- Provide regular updates to management on engineering issues and solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 2–5 years of experience in shipyard construction, repair, or marine engineering (can vary by level).
- Knowledge of classification rules, shipbuilding standards, and maritime regulations.
- Proficient in CAD and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Ship Constructor, Maxsurf, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work on-site in shipyard and project locations.
