Public Safety Savings and Loan Association, Inc. (PSSLAI) seeks a Sr. Business Application Architect to define, design, and govern the enterprise application landscape.
This role ensures end-to-end processes are optimized for efficiency and digital transformation, while guiding QA to meet requirements prior to deployment. The Sr. Business Application Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the application landscape to ensure alignment with business capabilities and enterprise architecture standards. This role ensures that business applications are effectively designed, integrated, and optimized to support end-to-end business processes, operational efficiency, and digital transformation initiatives.
The role also provides oversight of quality assurance (QA) activities, ensuring that application solutions meet defined business and technical requirements prior to deployment.
Design and maintain the overall architecture of business applications to support enterprise processes and capabilities.
Ensure application solutions aligned with business requirements, enterprise architecture standards, and IT roadmaps.
Analyze the existing application landscape to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with application solutions architect/s, infrastructure solutions architect/s, developers, project manager (as applicable), and relevant business stakeholders to develop target application architecture.
Evaluate, recommend, and support the selection of business application platforms and tools.
Establish and enforce standards for application design, integration, testing, and documentation across the organization.
Provide architectural direction and oversight for application-related projects, enhancements, and system implementations.
Conduct impact assessments for proposed changes to application systems and business processes.
Ensure application solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with company policies, IT governance, and regulatory standards.
Oversee Quality Assurance (QA) activities, including coordination with QA Leads and Testers to ensure proper test planning, execution, and validation of application changes.
Ensure that testing activities align with business requirements, system design, and acceptance criteria prior to deployment.
Review and support test strategies, test plans, and test results for application enhancements and implementations.
Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, including application landscapes, system dependencies, data flows, and integration models.

Work closely with development, infrastructure, IT operations, and QA teams to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
Provide guidance and mentorship to Business Application Analyst and QA teams, as needed.
Assist the Application Management Head in the development, maintenance, updating, and implementation of AMD policies, standards, procedures, and manuals related to business process and architecture, ensuring timely and consistent implementation.
Collaborate with concerned departments and the Systems and Methods Specialist in the periodic review, enhancement, and updating of AMD policies, standards, procedures, and manuals.
Strong strategic thinking and business analysis skills with the ability to translate business strategy into actionable capabilities.
Expertise in business architecture frameworks and methodologies.
Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring and influencing cross-functional teams.
Proficiency with business process modeling and architecture tools (e.g. JIRA, Visio, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage complexity and navigate large, matrixed organizations.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, SQL, and data visualization/reporting tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Finance, or related field. Master’s Degree is a plus.
At least 5-8 years of experience in business architecture, or strategic business analysis or related roles.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Architect (CBA), TOGAF, or similar is a plus.
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide business transformation initiatives.
Deep understanding of business process management and enterprise architecture principles.
