We are currently supporting a prominent financial institution in their search for an Application Architect to help define and shape the banks future-state application landscape. This role involves driving architectural alignment across key business platforms and ensuring technology initiatives meet long-term strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software architecture and hands-on experience with digital transformation initiatives such as microservices, automation, and DevSecOps. You will be instrumental in shaping the banks application roadmap in coordination with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Application Architecture Head in mapping current application ecosystems and designing scalable, future-ready architectures aligned with business objectives.

• Develop architecture guidelines, principles, and standards to support consistent and efficient solution delivery.

• Work closely with development, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams to identify technology improvement areas and define actionable projects to support architectural evolution.

  Participate in or lead the creation of solution architecture documents and presentation materials for review by technical governance bodies.

• Ensure architectural designs support agility, security, performance, and sustainability.

• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their applicability to the banks environment.

  Act as a technical advisor for project teams, providing architectural insights and risk assessments during the project lifecycle.

• Support the development of technology roadmaps, aligning with enterprise-wide transformation efforts.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields; a Masters degree is a plus.

TOGAF certification is preferred but not mandatory.

At least 8 years of professional experience across multiple IT domains, including systems design, software development, or solution delivery.

Minimum 3 years of experience in an architecture-focused role, ideally involving digital transformation, automation, or cloud-native implementations.

Strong knowledge of modern technology stacks, integration frameworks, and architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, APIs).

Experience collaborating across functions including product, engineering, and operations in Agile environments.

Background in banking, fintech, or financial systems is advantageous.

Excellent communication skills, with a track record of delivering architectural presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Familiarity with banking platforms such as Core Banking, Loan Origination Systems, or ATM management platforms is a plus.
