Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Makati is preparing a landmark preopening in Manila, seeking a Spa & Fitness Supervisor to lead daily operations of Spa Reception, Fitness Centre, and pools while upholding MOQA and LQE standards. You will supervise staff, coordinate across hotel departments, ensure safety and service excellence, and drive guest satisfaction and revenue.

The role requires 3+ years in luxury spa/hospitality, supervisory experience, and strong leadership with fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a luxury spa, wellness, fitness, or hospitality environment, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of spa, fitness, recreation, and luxury guest service operations.
• Proven leadership, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English; flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Spa Reception, Retail, Fitness Centre, Swimming Pool, and wellness facilities.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Security and other departments to ensure seamless operations.

The Role

The Spa & Fitness Supervisor supports the Director of Spa & Wellness in delivering exceptional wellness experiences that exceed guest expectations in line with Mandarin Oriental's Legendary Quality Experiences (LQE), MOQA standards, and Spa & Wellness brand standards. This role is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Spa Reception, Retail, Fitness Centre, Swimming Pool, and wellness facilities, ensuring operational excellence, guest satisfaction, safety compliance, colleague engagement, and revenue generation. The Spa & Fitness Supervisor serves as the operational lead for the department and supports the Director of Spa & Wellness in achieving departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

• Support the Director of Spa & Wellness in implementing and maintaining LQE, MOQA, and Spa & Wellness standards across all guest touchpoints.
• Oversee the daily operation of Spa Reception, Retail, Fitness Centre, Swimming Pool, and wellness facilities.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and service quality, proactively addressing guest feedback, concerns, and special requests.
• Conduct daily departmental briefings and communicate operational priorities, promotions, wellness initiatives, and service standards.
• Ensure all Spa & Wellness facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and operationally ready condition at all times.
• Coordinate closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain effective communication across all Spa & Wellness functions.

Fitness & Pool Operations

• Supervise Fitness Instructors, Lifeguards, Pool Attendants, Spa Attendants, and Spa Concierge colleagues.
• Ensure Fitness Centre and Pool facilities operate in accordance with established safety and operational standards.
• Monitor facility utilization, equipment condition, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.
• Support the delivery of fitness programs, wellness activities, and recreational initiatives.
• Ensure all fitness and pool equipment is properly maintained and operational.
• Conduct routine inspections and follow up on maintenance requirements.

Spa Reception & Retail Operations

• Oversee reservation, reception, cashiering, and retail functions to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Ensure guest bookings, billing procedures, and operational records are managed accurately.
• Support retail performance through merchandising, stock control, and service excellence.
• Monitor inventory levels of retail products, guest amenities, and operational supplies.

Sales and Revenue Generation

• Oversee reservation, reception, cashiering, and retail functions to ensure efficient daily operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Spa Management, Wellness, Fitness Management, Sports Science, or a related field preferred.
• Professional certification in Fitness, Wellness, Recreation, Hospitality, or a related discipline.
• Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a luxury spa, wellness, fitness, or hospitality environment, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of spa, fitness, recreation, and luxury guest service operations.
• Proven leadership, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to drive operational excellence while supporting revenue and guest satisfaction objectives.
• Professional grooming and presentation aligned with Mandarin Oriental standards.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
