Job summary

NCS Philippines is seeking a Solutions Designer with decommissioning experience to join our Makati City team. You will bridge business requirements with technical architecture, shaping scalable solutions for both new implementations and retirement of legacy systems.

You will lead decommissioning strategies, collaborate with project managers, developers and infrastructure teams, and produce architecture diagrams, design specs and implementation roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS or engineering.
• 5+ years in solutions design or systems architecture.
• Proven decommissioning experience with legacy systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid models.
• Strong stakeholder communication and agile/waterfall knowledge.

About the role

NCS Philippines is seeking a Solutions Designer with Decommissioning experience to join our growing team in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to design innovative technology solutions whilst leveraging your expertise in system decommissioning and legacy infrastructure management. As a Solutions Designer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging business requirements with technical architecture, ensuring that solutions are scalable, cost-effective and aligned with organisational objectives. This role is critical to our ability to deliver comprehensive technology solutions that encompass both new implementations and the strategic retirement of outdated systems.

What you'll be doing:

• Design comprehensive technology solutions that address complex business challenges, incorporating modern architectural best practices and industry standards
• Lead the planning and execution of system decommissioning strategies, ensuring minimal business disruption and effective knowledge transfer
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, developers, infrastructure specialists and business analysts to translate requirements into actionable technical designs
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for technology initiatives, including decommissioning projects and system migrations
• Develop detailed solution documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications and implementation roadmaps
• Advise stakeholders on technology choices, cost implications and timeline considerations for both new solutions and legacy system retirements
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge regarding solution design methodologies and decommissioning best practices
• Engage with clients to understand their business objectives and translate them into robust, sustainable technical solutions
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our solutions remain competitive and forward-thinking

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in solutions design, systems architecture or a related role
• Proven expertise in planning and executing system decommissioning initiatives, including knowledge of legacy system retirement strategies
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and design methodologies
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid infrastructure models
• Proficiency in creating architectural documentation and solution design artefacts
• Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, from C-suite executives to technical teams
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex business and technical challenges
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Project management experience or familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or TOGAF are highly desirable
• Experience in specific industries such as financial services, telecommunications or enterprise organisations would be advantageous
