Responsibilities

• Ensure solutions are aligned with business strategy, IT standards, and constraints.
• Support the creation of solution designs for projects, including dependency analysis.
• Work with the business to ensure project scope and designs are accurately communicated, and support the development of business cases for new projects.
• Maintain knowledge of market developments to leverage technologies and business models.
• Understand the IT landscape to deliver effective IT solutions that meet business needs.
• Review peer solution designs, costs, benefits, and technical designs; design efficiently following processes.
• Conduct technology assurance and governance aligned with architecture policy.
• Define the approach for structuring each application using appropriate technology solutions.
• Promote adherence to IT Strategy, Architecture Principles, and Roadmaps.
• Identify and assess risks, lead risk dialogue as SME, and support stakeholders in risk-based decisions.

Primary Details

Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee The purpose of this role is to assist in developing technical solution designs that outline project implementation and to convert business requirements into system requirements that align with enterprise architecture perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure solutions are aligned with business strategy, IT standards, and constraints.


• Support the creation of solution designs for projects, including dependency analysis.


• Work with the business to ensure project scope and designs are accurately communicated, and support the development of business cases for new projects.


• Maintain an up to date knowledge of market developments to identify and deliver opportunities to leverage existing or emerging technologies and business models which enhance business performance


• Understand the IT landscape where solutions reside to deliver effective IT solutions that support the business context and meet the broad business needs of QBE


• Review peer solution designs, costs, benefits, and technical designs, and design technical solutions efficiently following processes and procedures.


• Conduct technology assurance and governance aligned with architecture policy.


• Define the approach for structuring each application using appropriate technology solutions.


• Promote adherence to IT Strategy, Architecture Principles, and Roadmaps.


• Identify and assess risks within your subject matter area, lead risk-related dialogue as the SME for that domain, and support stakeholders in making informed, risk-based decisions. Mitigate risks in delivery while keeping to agreed plan and timeframes.

Work Experience

Necessary Work Experience

• Some relevant work experience.

Preferred Work Experience

• Previous experience as a technical lead or solution architect.


• Significant experience in project delivery.


• Experience in translating business requirements into infrastructure solutions across various technologies.


• Good understanding of project delivery methodologies.


• Experience of building solutions from defined architecture standards and patterns.


• Experience of public cloud platforms and services.


• Some experience in related business and systems.


• Experience as an application developer or business systems analyst in relevant technology.

• A Tertiary Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
