Job summary

MSpectrum Inc. is seeking a Solar PV Installer to perform field installation, assembly and testing of solar PV systems at project sites. You will install panels, mounting structures, electrical components and equipment in compliance with plans, safety standards and quality requirements.

The role involves hands-on fieldwork, basic testing, inspection and repairs, with travel to various project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Vocational or equivalent education in a related technical field.
• 1–2 years of solar PV installation or related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic electrical installation, wiring, grounding and safety.
• Familiarity with PV components and installation procedures is an advantage.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments.
• TESDA certification related to Electrical Installation/Maintenance or Solar PV is advantageous.
• Physically fit for fieldwork, outdoors and at heights.
• Willing to travel to different project sites.
• Able to work well in a team and follow technical instructions.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble solar PV panels, mounting structures, inverters, wiring and system components per plans.
• Perform electrical and mechanical installation activities for PV systems.
• Assist in DC/AC cabling, conduits, cable trays, grounding, and related components.
• Conduct basic testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of installed PV components.
• Ensure proper alignment, mounting, wiring, and secure connections.
• Assist in system commissioning and startup activities as required.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on PV systems.
• Identify and report installation issues, defects, safety hazards, and site concerns.
• Read and follow electrical diagrams, layout plans and installation drawings.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, testing instruments and equipment.

About the role

The Solar PV Installer is responsible for the installation, assembly, testing, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at project sites. The role involves hands‑on fieldwork, including installation of solar panels, mounting structures, electrical components, and related equipment while ensuring compliance with approved plans, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Install and assemble solar PV panels, mounting structures, inverters, wiring, and other system components based on approved designs and installation plans.


• Perform electrical and mechanical installation activities for solar PV systems.


• Assist in the installation of DC and AC cabling, conduits, cable trays, grounding, and other electrical components.


• Conduct basic testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of installed solar PV system components.


• Ensure proper alignment, mounting, wiring, connections, and securing of solar panels and equipment.


• Assist in system commissioning and startup activities as required.


• Perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repair activities for installed solar PV systems.


• Identify and report installation issues, equipment defects, safety hazards, and site concerns to the supervisor or project engineer.


• Read and follow electrical diagrams, layout plans, installation drawings, and technical instructions.


• Operate hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and other equipment required for solar installation.

About you

• At least a Vocational graduate, or Associate Degree holder in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Construction, or a related field.


• 1–2 years of experience in solar PV installation, electrical installation, construction, maintenance, or a related field is preferred.


• Knowledge of basic electrical installation, wiring, grounding, and electrical safety.


• Familiarity with solar PV system components and installation procedures is an advantage.


• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical testing instruments.


• TESDA certification related to Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Solar PV Installation, or other relevant technical certifications is an advantage.


• Physically fit and comfortable performing fieldwork, including working at heights and outdoors.


• Willing to travel and be assigned to different project sites.


• Able to work effectively with a team and follow technical instructions.
