C9 is seeking a Software QA Analyst to ensure quality across development projects. You will design, execute, and automate test plans, coordinating with developers, product managers, and delivery leads to deliver high-quality software.
The role emphasizes manual and automated testing, SQL validation, API testing with Postman, and experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, and Azure DevOps in a remote-first environment aligned to Australian business hours.

The Software QA Analyst will be responsible for ensuring software quality across development and IT-related projects through both manual and automated testing. You will design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, perform thorough manual testing, run automated scripts, track defect metrics, and debug issues.
You will work closely with developers, product managers, and project stakeholders to conduct testing prior to product launches, ensuring software runs smoothly, meets client specifications, and aligns with high quality and cost-effectiveness standards.
Review system requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases for both manual and automated testing.
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate QA and testing activities.
Perform hands‑on manual QA testing across functional, non‑functional, UI/UX, and system integration workflows.
Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using open‑source tools.
Identify, record, thoroughly document, and track bugs and software defects.
Perform thorough manual and automated regression testing once bugs are resolved.
Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client requirements.
Liaise with internal technical teams (e.g., developers, product managers, delivery leads) to clarify system requirements and acceptance criteria.
Monitor debugging process results and investigate the root causes of non‑conforming software.
Stay up to date with new testing tools, manual QA techniques, and test automation strategies.
5+ years of proven work experience in software development and software quality assurance.
Deep understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, framework design, and release management processes.
Demonstrated experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, and manual test cases.
Hands‑on experience with both white box and black box testing.
Solid knowledge of SQL, database queries, and scripting languages.
Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum software development processes.
Good verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Hands‑on experience with manual test execution, defect lifecycle management, and bug reporting tools.
Familiarity with test automation frameworks and open‑source automated testing tools.
Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman) and database validation using SQL.
Familiarity with task and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Monday.com, or equivalent platforms.
Ability to translate complex technical specifications into user‑focused test scenarios.
Comfortable working remotely with distributed software development teams.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
Experience with performance, load, or security testing tools.
Prior experience in a software consultancy, digital agency, or technology service provider.
Familiarity with CI/CD integration and automated testing pipelines.
Prior experience working with Australian or international clients.

Exposure to diverse client projects across web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
