Job summary

Asiacruit in the Philippines invites a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software for insurance and accounting workflows, including policy processing, billing, claims, invoicing, and financial data management.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, QA, and operations teams, write clean code, implement integrations, and ensure secure, scalable, and reliable software in a globally connected environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in software development, application engineering, or a similar role.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or an equivalent language.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience developing or integrating RESTful APIs, web services, or other system interfaces.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and database performance basics.
• Experience with Git or another version control system and collaborative development workflows.
• Understanding of unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and quality assurance practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze technical issues methodically.
• Excellent English communication skills for collaboration, documentation, and stakeholder updates.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, reliable, and maintainable software.
• Reliable internet connection, a suitable home office environment, and ability to work effectively with remote or international teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance software applications supporting insurance and accounting operations.
• Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code using established development standards.
• Translate business and technical requirements into effective software solutions.
• Develop application features for workflows such as policy processing, claims, billing, payments, invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and consistency.
• Refactor existing code and improve application architecture, maintainability, and performance.
• Develop and maintain integrations between insurance, accounting, CRM, payment, reporting, and other business systems.
• Work with APIs, web services, file transfers, scheduled jobs, and middleware to support reliable data exchange.
• Design and implement data validation, transformation, and error-handling processes.
• Work with relational databases and SQL to create queries, manage data access, and support application functionality.
• Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies, integration failures, and processing errors.
• Help ensure data accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and traceability across business workflows.
• Develop unit tests, integration tests, and automated test coverage for new and existing functionality.
• Collaborate with QA teams to plan test scenarios, reproduce defects, and verify fixes.
• Support deployments, release activities, and configuration changes across environments.
• Monitor application performance and investigate production issues using logs, metrics, and diagnostic tools.
• Participate in incident management, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation, deployment notes, troubleshooting guides, and support procedures.
