Global Payments is seeking a Software Engineer to join a team building secure, reliable, and scalable payment software. You’ll write high‑quality code across front‑ and back‑end technologies and translate requirements into practical solutions that improve functionality and user experience.

You’ll validate quality through testing and debugging, apply PCI security practices, and collaborate with colleagues across technology to deliver impactful solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, BIS, MIS or related field.
• Knowledge of one or more modern programming languages and software development principles.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows OS.
• Database design and DDL/DML for Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, IMS, DB2, Hadoop.

What you’ll own

• Build and enhance software applications that deliver reliable, secure and scalable solutions for clients and the business.
• Create high quality code across front end or back end technologies, driving performance, maintainability and long term value.
• Turn technical requirements into practical solutions that improve application functionality and user experience.
• Validate and improve application quality through testing, debugging and continuous refinement, ensuring dependable outcomes.
• Apply secure development practices, including Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards, to protect clients and business operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve development practices, contribute ideas and influence better ways of building software.
• Build strong partnerships with colleagues across technology teams to deliver successful solutions and shared outcomes.
• Grow your technical capabilities across modern programming languages, platforms and tools while expanding your impact within Global Payments.

What you bring

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Management Information Systems or a related field.
• Knowledge of one or more modern programming languages and a strong foundation in software development principles.
• Familiarity with :

Operating Systems:

• Linux distributions including one or more for the following: Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL, Amazon Linux
• Microsoft Windows

Database - Design, familiarity with DDL and DML for one or more of the following databases Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, IMS, DB2, Hadoop

Back-end technologies - Java, Python, .NET, Ruby, Mainframe COBOL, Mainframe Assembler

It’s a bonus if you have

• Experience designing, developing or analyzing software through internships, research projects or professional roles.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, modern development frameworks or DevOps practices that enable scalable, high quality software delivery.
• Experience contributing to team projects using version control, Agile ways of working or continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
