Job summary

Safeguard Global is expanding its IT team in the UK-based operation, building cloud-native .NET applications on Azure and driving a robust DevOps culture across squads. You’ll influence across the stack, delivering industry-leading solutions while embracing innovation, testing, and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of .NET 4.8 upwards including .NET Core.
• Ability to write and understand T-SQL scripts
• Good understanding of EF, EF-Core and Dapper
• Experience building and supporting public cloud applications (Azure cloud experience needed).
• Knowledge of cloud-first tech, such as serverless compute e.g. Azure Functions, service bus, AKS
• Strong SQL Server experience (modelling, stored procedures, indexing)
• Advocate for DevOps practices
• Understanding of latest JavaScript
• Knowledge of best practices in secure architecture
• Solution architecture design experience is an advantage
• Desirable: AI coding agents experience (Claude Code or ChatGPT Codex)

Job description

The company is an IT solution company based in UK. They’ve been operationg in the UK for over 15 years and with over 300 staff. Now they are on a mission to expand into new markets, opening up operations across Europe including, Germany, Denmark and Austria. They are also developing new platform as the use of number plate recognition for efficient click and collect operations, and developing their own electric vehicle charging network, creating a new customer facing brand. It’s a real time of innovation and expansion.

Strong IT is key to delivering on all of the ambitions, they are now investing in the team and updating the systems, technologies and practices to help achieve the goal.

Tech experience that will help you succeed in the role:

• Deep understanding of .net 4.8 upwards including .net core.
• Ability to write and understand T-SQL scripts
• Good understand of EF, EF-Core and Dapper
• Care about quality, performance/load testing, integration testing etc.
• Experience building and supporting public cloud applications (Azure cloud experience needed).
• Good knowledge of cloud first tech, such as serverless compute e.g. Azure Functions, service bus, AKS etc.
• We process a lot of data, landing that data into SQL Server, strong experience with SQL server is needed (database modelling, stored procedure development and optimisation, indexing improvements).
• A real advocate for DevOps practices.
• Understanding of latest JS.
• Knowledge of best practice in developing a secure architecture.
• Having solution architecture design experience is an advantage.
• Desirable: Already working with AI coding agents is a big plus, whether that be Claude Code or ChatGPT Codex
