We’re moving towards a model where engineers own features end-to-end.
With AI speeding up implementation, coding is no longer the bottleneck. The focus has shifted to understanding problems, shaping solutions, managing dependencies, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
We’re looking for senior engineers who are comfortable taking a feature from idea → plan → build → test → release, while working closely with stakeholders and product teams.
What you’ll be doing
- Work directly with product, design, stakeholders, and other teams to understand requirements
- Break work into vertical slices that deliver real user value
- Create clear implementation plans (approach, edge cases, risks, dependencies)
- Build across .NET (backend) and React (frontend)
- Use AI tools (Claude, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate development
- Write and maintain automated tests (Playwright for E2E)
- Demo early, gather feedback, and iterate quickly
- Identify and manage dependencies proactively to avoid rework
What we’re looking for
Solid system design & engineering fundamentals
- Experience designing and building scalable, maintainable systems
- Strong understanding of APIs, data flow, and application architecture
- Able to make pragmatic design decisions balancing short-term delivery with long-term maintainability
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders and asking the right questions
- Able to understand the \"why\" behind a feature
- Can work with ambiguous requirements and shape them into clear solutions
End-to-end ownership
- Can take a loosely defined feature and drive it through to delivery
- Doesn’t rely on fully defined tickets to get started
- Takes accountability for both outcome and quality
Strong slicing and planning skills
- Can break down features into well-sized vertical slices (~1-2 day chunks)
- Keeps work small enough to review and test effectively
- Avoids both over-granular tasks and overly large \"epic-sized\" work
- Builds with testing and reliability in mind
- Experience with unit, integration, and E2E testing (Playwright preferred)
- Thinks through failure scenarios, not just happy path
Dependency and change management
- Proactively identifies dependencies across teams or systems
- Flags risks early and works to minimise rework
- Comfortable operating in environments where things change mid-stream
Desirable - AI-assisted development (practical, not theoretical)
- Experience using tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot (or similar)
- Treats AI as an accelerator - validates output, handles edge cases, and maintains code quality
- Uses AI to speed up delivery without increasing risk
- Frontend: React (TypeScript preferred)
- Testing: Playwright (E2E), unit and integration testing
- Tools: Git, PR-based workflows, CI/CD
How we work
- Engineers own features, not just tasks
- Work is organised around vertical slices, not pre-defined tickets
- AI is part of the workflow - used to move faster, not to cut corners
- Focus is on delivering complete, usable features, not just closing stories
How you’ll be measured
- Feature delivery (cycle time and predictability)
- Quality (rework, stability, test coverage of key flows)
- Ability to clarify and shape requirements early
- Effectiveness in handling dependencies and reducing blockers
- Clear communication of trade-offs (scope, speed, quality)
- Work in a modern AI-assisted engineering environment
- High ownership and autonomy
- Real impact on how products are built and delivered
- Opportunity to help shape a new engineering model, not just follow one
