Loanworks Technologies is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain applications, services, and integrations using C#/.NET and SQL Server to support lending operations. This role is hands-on, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders, analyse processes, and deliver high-quality, scalable software that improves operational efficiency.

Formación

• Three years of commercial C# / .NET and SQL Server development.
• Strong T-SQL, including tracing data to identify issues.
• REST API design, JSON handling and data-mapping experience.
• Record of building or maintaining production services or integrations.
• Ability to translate operational problems into requirements and tests.
• Experience with Git and an AI coding assistant on real C# or SQL.
• Formal IT qualification or equivalent commercial development experience.
• Clear written and spoken explanations of technical choices.

Responsabilidades

About the role

We are looking for a Software Developer who can design, develop, and maintain applications, services, and integrations using C#/.NET and SQL Server to support lending operations. This role is responsible for taking business and operational requirements through the full development lifecycle, from analysing the problem and defining requirements to building, testing, and delivering robust software solutions.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on developer with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions. While knowledge of lending, settlement, and our internal systems will be provided through on-the-job training, you should be comfortable working closely with stakeholders, analysing processes, and developing high-quality, scalable applications that improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain production services, integrations and internal business applications in C# / .NET and SQL Server
• Write and review T-SQL. Trace a problem through application data to the cause
• Build and consume REST APIs. Map JSON and other payloads to the data the application uses
• Use Git. Use an AI coding assistant on real C# and SQL, keep what is sound, reject what is not, and check the result before it is relied on
• Turn a messy operational request into inputs, outputs, exceptions, acceptance criteria and the change itself
• Clarify assumptions, dependencies and the effect on related systems
• Write the short specification, data mapping and user note that belong with the change
• Test, debug, deploy and support the software they write, including exception paths
• Track defects through investigation, fix and retest
• Work with Australian stakeholders and the delivery team to confirm the operational need and the result

About you

• At least three years' recent commercial C# / .NET and SQL Server development
• Strong T-SQL, including tracing a problem through application data
• REST API, JSON and data-mapping experience
• Evidence of building or maintaining production services, integrations or internal business applications. They should be able to name the system and describe a change they personally wrote
• Able to turn an operational problem into requirements, exceptions, acceptance criteria and a working solution
• Practical testing, debugging, deployment, documentation and production-support experience
• Experience using Git and an AI coding assistant on real C# or SQL
• A relevant IT qualification, or equivalent commercial development experience
• Writes and maintains C# / .NET and T-SQL to a commercial standard
• Explains a technical choice in plain English to a business user and to another developer
