Job summary

GMC in Cebu is seeking a Service Technician – Wharf Operations (Mechanical) to maintain Intake and Silo systems. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, inspections, and timely repairs of conveyors, bucket elevators, gearboxes, and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The ideal candidate will hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Graduate in BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Industrial Technology, Diploma in Electro-Mechanical or Mechatronics
• Background in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledgeable in machine troubleshooting, conveyors and bucket elevators
• Computer literate
• Able to understand and interpret verbal and written instructions
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work effectively with people within and outside the department
• Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining equipment reliability

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled routine check-ups of operating mechanical machines and equipment under the preventive maintenance program
• Inspect machine components, running conditions, lubrication, and sanitation conditions
• Perform immediate maintenance and repairs on mechanical problems involving Intake/Silo systems and facilities
• Perform housekeeping and preventive maintenance on machinery such as conveyors, bucket elevators, gearboxes, and related equipment
• Identify and recommend necessary maintenance work, including replacement, repair, correction, or modification
• Ensure replacement parts, tools, and equipment used for maintenance and repair are correct and in good working condition
• Assist in the installation and fabrication of mechanical machinery and equipment as required
• Work closely with the Mechanical Service Engineer and Mechanical Plant Engineer to ensure efficient equipment operations
