Job summary

Monee is seeking a General Insurance Underwriter Sub-lead to oversee the GI and Life underwriting teams, ensuring timely and accurate evaluation of applications in line with risk appetite and service standards.

You will guide junior underwriters, manage complex cases, drive process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to enhance efficiency and customer experience. A senior role with leadership responsibilities and regulatory awareness is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years in insurance underwriting, GI/Life preferred.
• 1–2 years in senior/supervisory/lead roles preferred.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, pricing, limits, deductibles and governance.
• Good grasp of Philippine insurance regulations and compliance.
• Insurance courses from recognized institutes completed.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day GI and Life underwriting operations across teams.
• Provide technical guidance to junior underwriters and manage high-value cases.
• Drive process and product improvements with cross-functional partners.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, SLAs, and audit standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Commercial, Operations for successful implementations.
• Develop team capability through coaching and mentorship.
