Job summary

4impact Philippines is seeking a skilled Java automation engineer to build and maintain automated regression suites for migration decks. You will work on REST, SOAP, Kafka, and database surfaces, ensuring green pipelines through to cutover.

You will verify services with WireMock, XAWS, and modern test tooling, contribute to framework improvements, and support BAU handover. Strong Java/JUnit5 and CI/CD experience are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop per-deck automated regression suites against REST, SOAP, Kafka and database surfaces.
• Build service-virtualization stubs from captured back-end responses and verify the service calls.
• Verify via WireMock's journal that calls are correct (count, content, headers, order).
• Keep CI runs stable and produce Allure/JUnit reporting; maintain/refactor suites as contracts evolve.
• Investigate failures and triage defects vs tests vs environment.
• Contribute to framework improvements and BAU handover.
• Execute and run the test cases; analyze systems to create test scenarios.
• Perform manual testing checks for non-automatable scenarios if needed.

Job description

Role Overview

You’ll build the automated suites for each migration deck on top of the shared framework, proving migrated services behave correctly on every change and keeping the pipeline green through to cutover.

This role requires strong Java automation expertise and hands‑on skills across REST, SOAP, Kafka, and database surfaces, delivering reliable test coverage and contributing to framework improvements and BAU handover.

Responsibilities

• Develop per-deck automated regression suites against REST, SOAP, Kafka and database surfaces.
• Build service-virtualization stubs from captured back-end responses and verify the service made the correct calls.
• Verify via WireMock's request journal that the service made the correct call to Sabre - count, content, SOAP headers, order, and negative assertions - not just that it returned the right value.
• Keep CI runs stable; produce Allure / JUnit reporting; maintain and refactor suites as contracts evolve.
• Investigate failures and triage defect vs test vs environment.
• Contribute to framework improvements and the BAU handover.
• Execute and run the test cases
• Will be tapped to analyze systems and create test scenarios base on the requirements
• Can also perform manual testing checks for non-automatable test scenarios

Must haves

• Strong Java and JUnit 5.
• REST-assured (REST/JSON) and Spring-WS + Apache WSS4J (SOAP with WS-Security).
• spring-Kafka with Confluent Schema Registry; Awaitility; WireMock; XMLUnit.
• SQL/NoSQL assertions (Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB) via JdbcTemplate / MongoTemplate.
• Maven, Docker and GitLab CI.
• Proficiency with a generative-AI coding assistant to accelerate scenario generation, stub building and scaffolding.
• Allure / JUnit XML reporting.

Nice to have

• Airline / PSS / Sabre or similar back-end integration experience.
• Working with AI coding assistants to accelerate scaffolding and stub generation.
