REED ELSEVIER SHARED SERVICES (PHILIPPINES) INC. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – End User Computing (EUC) to join the EUC Enterprise Engineering team. The role focuses on delivering robust EUC solutions, cloud and on-prem environments, and serving as a senior escalation point for complex issues.
The ideal candidate will own end-to-end EUC systems, drive enterprise projects, mentor junior engineers, and implement automation to boost efficiency and reliability across global workforce.
We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer – End User Computing (EUC) to join Elsevier’s EUC Enterprise Engineering team. This is a senior-level role focused on delivering robust, scalable, and high-impact EUC solutions that empower our global workforce.
Key Responsibilities
EUC Solution Delivery: Lead the implementation, configuration, and ongoing enhancement of complex EUC solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
Senior Escalation Point: Act as an expert-level escalation point for high-impact technical issues, providing rapid troubleshooting and root-cause resolution.
Project Leadership: Drive the successful execution of enterprise infrastructure projects in close collaboration with engineering leads, service planning leads, and key stakeholders.
Automation & Process Improvement: Identify and implement automation initiatives (using PowerShell or similar scripting) to minimize manual workload and increase operational efficiency.
Mentorship & Team Growth: Guide and elevate junior and mid-level engineers through structured mentorship, code reviews, and technical coaching.
Platform Performance & Stability: Proactively monitor, tune, and maintain platform health and security compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT operations, security, and business stakeholders to align system architecture with business needs.
Operational Support: Participate in on-call rotations to support OCC/NOC escalations and after-hours business needs as required.
Bachelor's Degree
EUC & Cloud Platforms: Deep technical expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), Active Directory, Azure, and AWS.
Operating Systems: Advanced hands-on experience managing Windows Server environments, along with working knowledge of macOS and Linux in enterprise settings.
Networking & Protocols: Solid understanding of core network services including DNS, DHCP, and enterprise connectivity solutions.
Monitoring & Scripting: Practical experience with infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., SCOM) and automation/scripting using PowerShell or equivalent languages.
System Ownership: Proven track record of owning complex systems end-to-end—from initial planning and deployment to long-term support and optimization.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative, delivery-focused mindset.
Enterprise Background: Demonstrated experience working in large-scale, global, or regulated enterprise environments.
