Job summary

MicroSourcing is seeking a Senior System Administrator in Ortigas, Pasig, onsite three days a week, with strong Microsoft 365/Azure and networking experience. You will lead complex IT support, manage cloud environments, and drive security and continuity initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with senior or lead responsibility in an enterprise setting.
• Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure, with knowledge of AWS or another major cloud.
• Windows Server administration experience.
• Proven enterprise networking experience (firewalls, routing, switching, wireless).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or other major cloud providers in a hybrid environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work onsite in Ortigas, Pasig, three days per week aligned with Australian hours; after-hours support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical support and act as escalation point for complex IT issues.
• Administer and maintain Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and other cloud environments.
• Manage user access, devices, configurations, onboarding/offboarding, patching, backups, and monitoring.
• Maintain enterprise network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless devices.
• Lead system upgrades, cloud migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Implement and maintain IT security controls (MFA, VPN, endpoint security, vulnerability management).
• Support ISO 27001 compliance and ACSC Essential Eight implementation.
• Coordinate with vendors for IT support, warranties, licensing, and infrastructure needs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior IT staff; oversee helpdesk and sysadmin tasks.
• Maintain system documentation, knowledge bases, asset registers, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with IT applications and data teams on web apps, AI tools, dashboards, and other tech.
• Provide after-hours and on-demand support during outages, upgrades, and critical events.

Your Role

As a Senior System Administrator, you will:

• Provide senior-level technical support and act as the escalation point for complex IT issues across the organisation.
• Administer and maintain Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and other cloud environments.
• Manage user access, devices, system configurations, onboarding/offboarding, patching, backups, and infrastructure monitoring.
• Maintain and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless devices.
• Lead system upgrades, cloud migrations, infrastructure improvements, and modernisation projects.
• Implement and maintain IT security controls, including MFA, VPN, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
• Support ISO 27001 compliance and the implementation of the ACSC Essential Eight security framework.
• Manage backup restoration, business continuity, disaster recovery, and recovery testing procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors for IT support, warranties, equipment replacement, software licensing, and infrastructure requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior IT staff while overseeing helpdesk and systems administration activities.
• Maintain system documentation, knowledge base articles, asset registers, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with IT applications and data teams on web applications, AI tools, dashboards, and other technology solutions.
• Provide after-hours and on-demand support when required for system outages, security incidents, upgrades, and critical infrastructure activities.

What You Need

Non-negotiables

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated senior or lead responsibility in an enterprise environment.
• Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 and Azure, with working knowledge of AWS or another major cloud provider.
• Demonstrated experience with Windows Server administration.
• Proven enterprise networking experience, including firewalls, routing, switching, and wireless configuration.
• Hands‑on experience administering AWS, Google Cloud, or another major cloud provider in a hybrid cloud environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work onsite in Ortigas, Pasig, three days per week aligned with Australian business hours, with after‑hours support as required.

Preferred Skills/expertise

• Microsoft certifications in Azure, Microsoft 365, or related technologies.
• Experience with SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, and Intune.
• Experience with IT security tools, vulnerability management, and security best practices.
• Experience supporting ISO 27001 and ACSC Essential Eight compliance requirements.
• Experience deploying and maintaining enterprise software and cloud technologies.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and restoration testing.
• Experience supporting, training, and mentoring junior IT team members.
• Experience working with professional services firms or Australian-based organisations.
