Job summary

Pronet Gaming is seeking a Senior System Administrator to join the infrastructure team in Manila. You will manage OS software, design networks, debug programs, and automate backups to maximize performance and reliability.

The role requires strong Linux experience, Java-based tech exposure, VMware vSphere expertise, and solid scripting skills. You will monitor systems, implement security measures, and ensure continuous availability.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience on Linux-based operating systems.
• Recent experience with web-based technologies (ideally Java-based).
• Good experience in VMware vSphere installation, management, tuning and performance monitoring.
• Experience with NGINX configuration, monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience in system and network design, shell or Python scripting, and documentation.
• Good knowledge in network and OS monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with IPsec tunnel setups on Linux.
• Very good experience with Java-based runtime parameter tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Nagios/Zabbix/PRTG-like monitoring tools.
• Experience in building backup methodologies and tools.

Job Purpose:

Senior System Administrator is an integral member of the infrastructure team responsible for managing company’s infrastructure systems, installing and maintaining the operating system software, creating networking and system structures, debugging malfunctioning programs, managing backup policies and building system backup environments, and regularly maintaining the system security.

To ensure success as a Senior System Administrator, he/she should have extensive experience with Operating Systems and Networking concepts and monitoring tools, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with systems and network management. Ultimately, a top-level senior system administrator can expertly manage a company’s infrastructure systems to maximize performance and efficiency by automating with in-house developed scripts.

Requirements:

• Proven work experience on Linux based Operating Systems.
• Recent experience with web based(ideally java based) technologies is a MUST
• Good Experience in VMware vSphere installation, management tuning and performance monitoring.
• Experienced in NGINX configuration, performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experienced in system and network design, shell (or python) scripting and documentation.
• Good knowledge in network and OS monitoring and problem troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with Network IPSEC tunnel setups on Linux.
• Very good experience with JAVA-based application run time parameter tuning, monitoring and problem troubleshooting.
• Experienced in Nagios/Zabbix/PRTG like infrastructure and network monitoring tools.
• Experienced in building backup methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Compatibility with flexible working hours.

Advantages:

• Experience on CentOS or Redhat based distributions.
• Knowledge of DDoS protection services such as Cloudflare, Nexusguard or Imperva (Incapsula).
• Knowledge of public cloud management platforms such as AWS and/or Cloud IBM.
