Job summary

PM Consulting seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead the full lifecycle of floating desalination projects, from design to EPC execution, commissioning and operations. You will steer SWRO process design, pretreatment, energy recovery, and plant optimization while ensuring safety, quality, and performance.

The role requires coordinating with EPC contractors, technology providers, and vendors, plus travel to shipyards and project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8–15+ years in process engineering for seawater desalination, SWRO or water treatment.
• Experience in EPC environments with design reviews, calculations, and deliverables.
• Expertise in SWRO design, pretreatment, energy recovery, and system optimization.
• Experience with plant integration, modular designs, and marine interfaces.
• Knowledge of high-pressure piping materials and corrosion considerations.
• Experience supporting commissioning, start-up, and performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead process definition for floating desalination units and technology selection.
• Develop and review PFDs, mass and energy balances, and equipment lists.
• Evaluate marine and site constraints affecting process design.
• Support technical evaluation of EPC bids and proposed solutions.
• Optimize overall desalination process, topside layout, and future capacity.
• Drive energy recovery, membrane performance, and hydraulic efficiency improvements.
• Size/process pumps, SWRO trains, membranes, and chemical dosing systems.
• Develop seawater intake, pretreatment, DAF, and energy recovery systems.
• Lead modular/containerized process designs with standardized interfaces.
• Define piping, materials, routing, and access for marine environments.
• Oversee EPC execution, reviews of deliverables, and compliance with specs.
• Participate in HAZOP/HAZID, risk assessments, and design reviews.
• Provide commissioning support and validation of plant performance.
• Maintain technical records and support continuous improvement.
