Job summary

SMEC is seeking a Structural Engineer to deliver technically sound, safe, and cost-effective structural solutions across projects. You will work with project managers, civil and multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet codes, standards, and SMEC quality procedures.

You will conduct analyses, prepare calculations and documentation, and coordinate inputs to ensure timely completion.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with structural focus.
Licensed/registered Civil Engineer with valid license.
5–10 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
Experience in design/assessment of buildings, bridges, dams, hydropower or related infra.
Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Undertake structural analysis and design for buildings and infrastructure.
Prepare design reports, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Apply structural engineering codes, standards, and methodologies.
Review systems and propose cost-effective solutions.
Support project delivery from concept to construction with multidisciplinary teams.
Plan tasks to meet deadlines and coordinate inputs with other disciplines.
Monitor progress and address technical issues promptly.
Review contractor submissions and shop drawings as required.
