SMEC, a global engineering consultancy, seeks a Structural Design & Analysis Lead to direct the design and analysis of bridges and transportation structures. You will perform advanced calculations with MIDAS Civil, STAAD, and related software, and develop designs from concept to detail with robust safety and cost considerations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; master’s preferred.
Licensed/registered Civil Engineer with 8+ years in bridge or structural design.
Proficiency in MIDAS, STAAD, and associated design software.

Responsibilities

Lead structural design and analysis for bridges and transportation structures.
Perform advanced calculations using MIDAS Civil, STAAD, and similar tools.
Develop conceptual to detailed design drawings and specs.
Conduct design checks, peer reviews, and value engineering.
Ensure compliance with AASHTO LRFD, Eurocode, BS, and local manuals.
Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and manage schedules.
Provide construction support and site inspections as needed.
