Job summary

BG&E in Manila, Philippines is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design of reinforced concrete and steel buildings for Australian and international markets.

You will perform analyses, develop models, and prepare calculations and reports while coordinating with architects and engineers across project teams. The role includes mentoring junior staff and delivering designs from concept through documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university
• PRC Civil Engineer License is required
• 5–10 years of structural engineering experience
• Experience with reinforced concrete and/or structural steel building design
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAFE, RAM Concept, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Design reinforced concrete and structural steel building structures
• Perform structural analysis and modelling using industry‑standard software
• Undertake lateral stability analysis and wind/seismic design
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation
• Coordinate with architects, drafters, and multidisciplinary teams
• Support project delivery from concept design through construction documentation

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with strong technical design capability and a passion for building structures. What You'll Do

• Design reinforced concrete and structural steel building structures
• Perform structural analysis and modelling using industry-standard software
• Undertake lateral stability analysis and design for wind and seismic loading
• Design reinforced and post-tensioned concrete floor systems
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and structural design documentation
• Coordinate with architects, drafters, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Support project delivery from concept design through detailed design and construction documentation
• Contribute to practical, efficient, and buildable engineering solutions
• Mentor and support junior engineers where appropriate

Essential Criteria

• Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognised university
• PRC Civil Engineer License
• Experience
• 5 to 10 years of structural engineering experience
• Experience in reinforced concrete and/or structural steel building design
• Experience working on multi-storey building projects
• Experience undertaking structural analysis and design using industry-standard software
• Technical Skills
• Proficiency in ETABS (minimum 3 years).
• Proficiency in at least one of the following:
• SAFE (minimum 3 years)
• RAPT (minimum 1 years)
• RAM Concept (minimum 1 years)
• Understanding of structural load paths and lateral stability systems
• Ability to prepare engineering calculations and technical reports
• Ability to prepare and coordinate structural design documentation
• Communication
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams

• Buildings Design Experience
• Experience in post-tensioned slab design
• Experience in foundation and retaining wall design
