Job summary

CHAMP Cargosystems S.A. in the Philippines seeks a Senior Database Administrator to manage SQL Server across on‑premises and AWS Cloud environments. You will install, configure, and tune SQL Server, implement HA/DR, and ensure security compliance.

The role requires hands‑on experience with T‑SQL, PowerShell, and cloud services (RDS, EC2, AWS Backup). You will collaborate with developers and operations while supporting migration, backups, monitoring, and incident response.

Qualifications

At least 7 years’ experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA, with 3+ years as a Senior DBA.
Hands-on in managing SQL Server in On-Prem and cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of security, backups, HA/DR, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server 2019/2022/2025 on Windows and Linux (On-Prem & AWS).
Tune performance, indexes, and execution plans.
Develop and implement backups and recovery strategies across on‑prem and AWS.
Enforce database security controls, least privilege, encryption, auditing, and compliance.
Design and implement HA/DR solutions (Always On, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, AWS Cross-Region).
Collaborate with developers, admins, and customers; support migrations to AWS (RDS/EC2).
Monitor storage and performance metrics (including AWS CloudWatch) and plan capacity.
