Job summary

Emerson is seeking a General Ledger professional in the Philippines to process ledger transactions, reconcile accounts, and support audits. This role focuses on asset accounting, reporting, and internal controls to deliver accurate financials.

You will collaborate with internal and external customers, drive improvements, and contribute to a high-quality financial service environment while maintaining strong audit readiness and compliance with GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 4.5+ years of relevant General Ledger experience (bank reconciliation, balance sheet, fixed assets, audit support).
• Strong understanding of internal controls and GAAP.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Oracle and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Perform a bank reconciliation to protect the organization's assets.
• Validate the accuracy of cash transactions, verify discrepancies, and resolve reconciling transactions.
• Perform Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation and analyze transactions to validate accuracy through vouching.
• Generate reports and perform analysis of accounts to resolve potential mis-recording of transactions prior to finalization of financials.
• Maintain audit trail of supporting documents for audit requirements and post Journal entries to restate account balances.
• Perform Fixed Assets Accounting, asset recognition, depreciation, retirement, transfer, and write-off.
• Conduct training and prepare or update process documentation to capture improvements.
• Apply internal controls in compliance with CP&P and GAAP.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Perform a bank reconciliation to protect the organization's assets.

• Generate reports and perform analysis of accounts to resolve potential mis recording of transactions prior to finalization of financials.
• Maintain audit trail of supporting documents for audit requirements and post Journal entries to restate account balances.
• Perform Fixed Assets Accounting, asset recognition, depreciation, retirement, transfer, and write-off.

• Apply appropriate internal controls in compliance with Corporate Policies and Procedures (CP&P) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or any Accounting-related field.
• 4.5 years of relevant experience in general accounting, majority of which should be in General Ledger performing bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, fixed assets, and audit support.
• Solid understanding of internal control and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications, preferably in Oracle and SAP.
